The New EADA Showcase

The new EADA Showcase went down a storm during it’s first two performances in October 2005. The first performance in Manchester for Margaret Taylor and the second in Southampton for James and Claire Taplin.

The superb EADA show, whose new choreographers; Hazel Newberry, James Taplin, Claire Taplin, Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace, produced some dazzling choreography and lift work, which wowed the crowds at both events.

Not only does the show have new choregraphers, but also has three new sponsors for 2006, who are; Dance Sport International, Squeezy Gel Sports Products and Morrison Findlay Photography. All who work with the showcase are very pleased to have the support of these companies for this EADA project.

Six amateur couples performed during the hour long show at both events, which included group and solo performances by Stephen and Gemma Arnold, Ryan Wilson and Oleskia Kosik, Kim Magin and Justine Hollyer, David and Grace Lai, David and Abbie Sheridan, Adam Potter and Jemma McCulloch. All couples performed beautifully, especially their group ballroom and latin routines which featured some very complicated lift work.

Monies raised from these events go to the English Amateur Dancers Association, as well as help promote and raise the profile of EADA and the couples who perform in it. It’s a great show to watch, and a great project to be involved in, where camaraderie and team spirit are what brings the show alive.
