Membership
Membership is open to all competitive dancers in four disciplines namely Freestyle, Classical/Sequence, Latin American and Standard (Ballroom/Modern).

Each discipline is segmented by age and standard reached.
Age Groups:
• Juvenile (under 12 years)
• Junior (12 to under 16 years)
• Amateur (from 16 years)
The Amateur section is further divided into:
• Youth couples (16 to under 19 years)
• Adult Amateurs (of all standards) up to 35 years
• Seniors (of all standards) over 35 years and over 50 years

Dancesport is truly open to anyone of any age. Further sub-divisions are permitted under British Dance Council (BDC) Rules.

Standards Danced:
Within each age range couples are able to progress from Beginner, through Novice, Intermediate, Pre-Championship, Championship to International Standard. The official rules in respect of age qualification, standard danced, figures danced, dress codes, etc. are contained in the EADA Rules book (available to members free of charge) and the BDC Rules book.
