EADA Selection Competitions FAQ
Here are some of the frequently asked questions regarding Chart Rated Competitions.

Q Why haven't the results been updated?
A There could be a number of reasons. Once the comp is over the promoter has a set period in which to send the results to EADA. Sometimes we have trouble getting the results, sometimes there are questions regarding the results that need to be sorted before they can be put up. The Chart Administrator has a list of all Chart competitions that have yet to be updated and will be chasing up to rectify the matter as soon as possible.

Q Why have my points not been awarded?
Here are some possible reasons;

1 One of the partnership must hold a British Passport, if neither of you do, you were not entitled to enter. Your points will not be awarded.
2 One or both of the partnership is not a current member of EADA. If your membership is not up to date, you are not entitled to enter ANY competitions. You will not be given your points, and these will not be awarded to you retrospectively.
3 One or both of the partnership may not be in the correct age category. Remember at the start of 2007 the age rules for chart rated events changed. If you are too old, you will not be given your points
4 Some form of Admin Error. Sometimes the names on the forms we are sent get a bit garbled, or simply missed for some reason. If you hold a British Passport, and both your EADA memberships were up to date on the day of the competition, but you were not awarded your points, please get in touch with Chart Admin.

If a couple enters a comp that they were not entitled to, do all the couples that finish below them move up a place?
No. It is impossible to say how the judges would have marked a competition if a couple had not competed. The recalls they gave to the 'illegal' couple would have to have gone to other competitors, and who can say if that would not change who was next through to the final? The couple through to the final with the lowest number of recalls will not always finish 6th.

It is really important that only couples who are entitled to enter a competition do so.

Q Why do some scores look like this *11* ?
If a couple is invited to take part in international competitions that clash with a chart rated event, that couple will be awarded their average points so that they do not lose out for representing England. These average points are shown with a little star either side.
