NSC Event Rule changes
The Chart Committee proposed the following
changes for 2006:
Remove the requirement on promoters that all Amateur grade
NSCs are pre-entry. Pre-entry will now be at the discretion
of the
promoter for all grades but any closing date for entries
must be adver tised well in advance and must be
no later than two weeks before the competition.
Remove the requirement on promoters to provide
a repechage round in Amateur Grade NSCs and remove the recommendation
that a repechage round is used in other NSCs.
Add a reminder that points will not be awarded
to any dancer not registered with EADA at the date of the NSC.
Remove the requirement on promoters that permission
to exclude Viennese Waltz or Jive from early round must be written.
(Such permission must still be sought.)
Add the requirement on promoters that competitors
should be given ten minutes warning before the next round of
their competition commences.
Add the recommendation to promoters that all
NSC should finish by 8pm and, in the case of Juvenile or Junior
grade, by 4pm.
Make it clearer that when there are between
13 and 24 entries, 12 should be recalled for a semi
final, and if there are less than 12 entries, 6 should be recalled
for the final.
Add that promoters are encouraged to display
the recall marks between rounds.
In addition, the parameters
for the various grades and styles are changed as follows
