EADA members in Video
Shoot for Electronics
Giant
A day at rehearsals, and a long long days filming was what lay
in store for EADA members, when asked to take part in a new video
for Japanese electronics giant Panasonic.
A bitterly cold (and I mean cold!) Blackpool in December was
the town, the beautiful and inspiring "Tower Ballroom" the
venue, for what was to be a busy, but most enjoyable day for
EADA members, Marco Cavellero & Joanne Clifton, Mark & Olga
Elsbury, Mairold Millert & Alexandra Hixson, Damien Hey & Hannah
Davis, Jodie Earby, and of course not forgetting the real "Stars" of
the show Marcus Lee & Sarah-Louise Trim. All were under
the expert guidance of Mr Keith Clifton, who did an amazing job
of
making
the whole shoot work through translating to the dancers just
what was required by the film crew, which was no easy task considering
the director spoke very little English! A testament to Keith’s
expertise and know how.
The day started at 6.30am (yes, in the morning!), but of course
the girls day had to start much earlier so as to have their hair
ready on arrival. Once everyone had been fed and watered, it
was into makeup, although this went on for most of the day really.
Whenever the dancers came off the floor, the brilliant makeup
artists were there in a flash making sure they always looked
the best they could, and I think all the dancers would agree
how great it would be to have them at a comp!!
So then it was onto the filming, Waltz and Quickstep were the
dances, and it seemed to go on forever, I think there was more
waltzes danced here then in a week at the Open British!! The
film crew wanted it perfect, and went over and over each shot
and clip, so there was a lot of waiting to be done; however the
waiting was made great fun by the antics of our Juvenile stars
Marcus & Sarah, who not only kept the rest of the dancers
entertained throughout, but completely charmed the socks off
the entire film crew with their personalities. For a couple so
young they showed terrific concentration and maturity, and they
surely have a fantastic future ahead of them, well done.
After lots of takes and re-takes, and every camera angle possible
in the afternoon and it has to be said some great translation
work from Marco Cavellero late on, helping us to finish on time.
What was a great day drew to a close at around 7.00pm, a big
thank you again to Mr.Keith Clifton for his great work, and a
huge well done to all the EADA members involved, whose dedication,
application and professionalism through out was outstanding
and who where great ambassadors and a credit to EADA.
Keep a lookout for the video early next year!
