Dancing in the media...

A couple of weeks ago there was an event held at the BIC (Bournemouth) called
Strictly Come Dancing Revisited. It was a team match between Southampton & Bournemouth to raise money for the Red Cross to purchase a new ambulance. Although this was not an EADA event, all of the dancers taking part were EADA members and they were as follows:

Southampton Team:
Latin
Daniel Silva & Yasmin Priestnall
Courtney Garrett & Lauren Hunt
Lee McGowan & Kirsty Sahota

Ballroom
Paul Warwick & Jenny Bryan
Sam Talbot & SUzanne Gutteridge
Stephen & Gemma-Louise Arnold

Bournemouth Team:
Latin
Marko Liigajaan & Mari Piksar (probably not EADA members)
Viachelslav Klimkin & Joanne Barnett
Stanislav Wakeham & Jasmine Chan

Ballroom
Ben Taylor & Teele Kruuse
Jack Beale & Inna Prigorovskaja
Georgi Neshkov & Sarah Hardy
Dancing was to the Andy Ross Orchestra who played on the original programme 30 years ago. The show was hosted by BBC Radio Solent`s Richard Cartridge. Guest appearances from past presenters included Rosemary Ford, Peggy Spencer & David Jacobs.

The adjudicators were Robert Bellinger, Lynette Boyce & Claire Taplin and demonstrations were from Alex Ivanets & Lisa Bellinger Ivanets and Warren & Kristi Boyce.

The evening raised £10,000 for the Red Cross which was brilliant.

This was a great evening and fab promotion for dancing. BBC South Today actually filmed a piece which went out live on the 6.30 news that day”.
