Horndean, 10 September 06

We had yet another great day of competition on 10/09/2006 at Horndean. It was an extremely warm day but we were kept refreshed by the wonderful Betty and Marlene. We were also delighted to see that Lisa and Alex Ivanets had bought some items from their shop to sell as did the sponsors of the day, Sparkle Designs.

The Junior Championship and Eada Latin event were both fiercely contested with no fewer than 14 couples taking part. This meant that for the first time in a few months we had quarter final, semi final and then final. Any one of the couples taking part could have been in the position to grace the final....well that's my opinion!

The juvenile events were a bit thin on the ground but not in talent. These youngsters delighted us not only with their dancing skills with their respective partners but also with some of the adults that were just hanging around. The adult and child event had all the judges fighting over who was going to judge. What a delight to watch.

Our team of adjudicators for the day were headed up by the ever enthusiastic Gary Foster who at one point took control of the mike and gave us a good ticking off for not shouting loud enough for the children.

Supporting Gary was; Dawn Vickers, Izabela Hannah, David Douglas, Tony Hunnisett, Mark Lunn and Kevin Clapson. Not forgetting the hard working scrutineers Peter and Pat Tolman.
