WARNING TO PARENTS
It has come to our attention that late on Saturday evening an
A4 looking for a partner advert featuring a photo of a 14 year
old girl complete with contact details was displayed on one of
the walls in the MENS toilet on the ground floor of the Winter
Gardens. Sadly the gentleman who reported it to us was upset
and was unable to
report any details that would have allowed us to contact the
Parents to warn them of the possible consequences of displaying
an advert of this type in any public place let alone a men’s
toilet.
EADA takes Child protection extremely seriously and we have our
own Officer who deals with matters on this subject. It is impossible
for EADA or the Professionals to check everyone who comes through
the door to watch or take part in an event. We are therefore
heavily reliant on parents being fully aware of the possible
dangers that exist in our sport. We already advise parents to
accompany their children in the changing rooms and not to change
Children in the Dance Hall at events. And report anything of
concern in relation to child protection to EADA. In addition
Parents we would ask you to avoid placing Partner adverts in
public places where their viewing cannot be monitored, including
changing rooms, ballrooms, toilets.
Thank you for your cooperation.
