back to news Guernsey Amabassador's of the Year for 2006

I am very proud to be able to announce that at the Guiton Awards for Achievement held on the evening of Thursday 8th February, Jamie & Vanessa Le Tissier were named as the Guiton Group's Guernsey Amabassador's of the Year for 2006.

Their award was presented by the Bailiff, Sir Geoffrey Rowland, who said that "their successes had elevated them to the world stage where media coverage took the name of our Island to countries thousands of miles away."

The major success recognised for their dancing and for the hard work they have done to promote the Yorkshire Guernsey International Dancesport Festival.

Receiving the award on their behalf, Peter Symes, Treasurer for GADA and Managing Director of Yorkshire Guernsey Bank, one of the Festival's major sponsors, said that "he was very proud to receive the award on behalf of Jamie & Vanessa, and that they were really true Ambassadors to the Island and to Dancesport".
After the event, Peter said that "the GADA Management Committee, are very proud that Jamie & Vanessa have received this award for the way they promote Guernsey. They are great Ambassadors for the Island".
Well done Jamie & Vanessa, we are all very proud of you.
