Ian Waite and Nirvana Spa raise funds for EADA

HUNDREDS of dance fans descended on Pulse 8 Health Club in Reading for a master class with Ian Waite.

The Strictly Come Dancing star, popped into Nirvana Spa’s gym Pulse 8 for an evening of ballroom dancing.

Over 150 people turned up at the Sindlesham health and fitness centre on Saturday evening for the event, which raised almost £1,700 for EADA.

Armed with a stage and microphone, Ian taught visitors the basics of the cha-cha and waltz.

“ The evening was a huge success,” said Paddy Halfhide, business and marketing manager. “The event had sold out in a matter of hours.”

He said: “Ian Waite is a member of Nirvana Spa and we thought it would be quite fun to put together an evening suitable for everybody.”

Ian said: “It was a fantastic evening. It was lovely to see so many people and we had so much fun.
“ I had been thinking about doing something for up and coming dancers and it was a great way of promoting dance as a health option.”

The £1672 raised will go into the EADA travel fund and will go to help send junior couples to the major overseas championships. EADA would like to thank Ian, and all the staff at Nirvana Spa for their very generous support.
