For the 19th time running, a DanceSport competition weekend took place in the lovely Dachstein-Tauern-Halle in Schladming, Austria. The organisers " Tanzsport-Club Graz" under the experienced lead of Johann and Beate Pauritsch once again did a fantastic job to create good atmosphere for the total of some 470 couples, taking part in the various events running on Saturday and Sunday. Various IDSF competitions included the Modern Senior I, II and III as well as a Senior Latin I and Open Modern & Latin. The IDSF competitions on Saturday and Sunday saw again an international variety with couples inter alia from Austria, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Russia, Slovenia, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and last but not least, England.(Yeah!).

IDSF Senior Modern 1 Comps are held on both days with an overall field of approx. 70 couples on both days. We reached 28th place on Saturday and could improve on this result on Sunday, making the 24 and placing ourselves 19th (the good Austrian food and wine the previous night might have helped ?). The finals on both days were firmly in Italian hands (and feet) with Germany taking 6th place. With approx 86 couples the IDSF Modern Senior 2 showed the highest entry, in which Richard and Jenny Funnel reached a respectable 14th place.

Resume:
Good fun, well organised and gaining international dance experience in the European world, in front of an international judging panel made this once again a worthwhile trip.
