Winsford
report By Sarah

After
a long journey to the North of the country we arrived at Winsford
and confronted with what could only be explained as a Mahoooooosive
turnout for this day of ballroom and latin competitions. It was
standing room only for the adult competitors but no one moaned
as the venue was a superb choice with cheap tea and coffee and
very clean toilets.
The standard for this competition day was the highest that I
have seen for a long time with couples ranging between the very
young
and the seniors who had more energy than I could ever muster. In
the junior events we saw the new pairing of Elliot Plate and Sophie
Jones, WOW. So much talent in two young dancers and what a joy
to watch. They were inevitable winners of the main junior events
and a force to be reckoned with for the future I feel.
Hot on their
heels were Sidney Chong and Danielle Toal. Another fantastic couple
which oozes charisma and a strong will to win. All the couples
in the juniors and juveniles were fabulous and certainly worthy
of the pride that was shown by their parents.

Next up were the youth dancers and my goodness were we in for a
treat. This age group is going from strength to strength. With
14 couples starting we all new that this was going to be a fiercely
fought event. These youngsters gave
everything they had and more but there could only be one winner
and that went to the ever impressive Kyle Taylor and Jourdan Stone.
To summarise the day…..Great venue, great music, well organised
and fantastic judging.
