Blackpool Dance Festival
for Juniors 2008

It is Easter Monday; it is time for the 2008 British Junior Dance Festival to
start! This extremely popular international event takes place at the Tower Ballroom
in Blackpool.

For a week, couples coming from all over the world will be representing their
country in the great number of events taking place every day. Being able to take
part in this dancing tournament is an amazing and unforgettable experience.

The true international character of this Festival is seen in the ever increasing
number and variety of entries and almost every European country is also represented
with the Eastern countries having the greater number of couples, in particular
Russia and Ukraine but also many from Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Latvia, South
Africa, Belarus, Norway, Estonia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Kazakhstan, Italy,
Portugal...
Approaching Blackpool Tower for the first time that week, all couples can feel
so much excitement and the hope in everyone, then you enter this stunningly beautiful
Ballroom hall and admire the excellent dancing that would be displayed.

Most British Juvenile & Junior couples taking part are hoping to get one
or two recalls with our top ranking Juveniles & Juniors aiming to reach the
quarterfinal, hopefully the semi finals and rarely a final.
.2008 has been a fine year with a number of Juvenile couples reaching quarter
finals, semi finals and 1 couple not only reaching all finals but winning many
events and a number of Junior couples reaching quarter finals and 2 making semi
finals, in Open and U14s!

This dance festival is also the host for the Junior & Juvenile Team Matches
which are highly contested.
